The power of three: our team's favourite e-bike tours
Get out of the daily grind. Into Alta Badia. Get on the e-bike saddle. And then: pure freedom. Give your soul a good dose of tailwind and "experience" the magical mountain world of the Dolomites almost effortlessly. Just like our team.
Many of us are enthusiastic e-bikers. After work and at weekends, we are drawn to the mountains. And because we know that happiness multiplies when you share it, we reveal the three most scenic tours in the entire valley here:
Host Pio Canins on his favourite tour Störes - Pralongià - Corvara - La Villa - San Cassian
I would like to recommend a half-day mountain bike tour that leads through the unrivalled beauty of the Armentarola region. The Störes lies at an altitude of almost 2,200 metres and is not a typical mountain peak as we know it, but a rather gentle elevation: a great little natural wonder that you can easily reach by e-bike.
From the Lagació, you first reach the hamlets of Armentarola and Pre de Costa. From there, the trail leads through dense forests up to the picturesque Störes meadows.
Via the Störes meadows, the route takes you to the impressive Pralongià plateau. This plateau offers a breathtaking 360-degree panorama of the surrounding Dolomite peaks of Conturines, Settsass, Marmolada, Sella, Sassongher and Gardenaccia. Your next destination is the Pralongià hut at 2,109 metres above sea level - a perfect place for a short break and refreshments. The route then continues along gravel and forest paths towards Corvara. This part of the route is no problem for experienced e-bikers, but beginners should ride carefully. From Corvara, follow the course of the stream down to La Villa and finally make your way back to San Cassiano and the Lagació.
E-bike tip from spa manager Romina: Badia - Armentara - Santa Croce - Furnacia
I like to start a tour at the historic pilgrimage site of La Crusc/Santa Croce in Badia. After the first few metres in the direction of the Armentara meadows, a true natural paradise unfolds: The splendour of the rare plants is beautiful! From the Holy Cross, take the descent towards Furnacia on trail no. 15/A. About 3 kilometres above the village of La Val, there are historic farms offering an interesting insight into Ladin culture and architecture. The route then leads back to Valgiarei and then descends to Badia.
With receptionist Sabine on the Sellaronda mountain bike tour
If you like it challenging, you MUST tackle the Sellaronda. Cycling around the Sella massif is a must for anyone who loves mountains and biking. If you take an e-bike, you can complete the route Corvara - Col Alto - Pralongiá - Arabba - Porta Vescovo - Passo Pordoi - Canazei - Col Rodella - Selva Gardena - Dantercepies - Corvara in just over 6 hours. The tour is 57 kilometres long in total.
