An impressive mountain steeped in history
The Lagazuoi massif, 2778 m high, is one of the most impressive ranges of the Dolomites, and our Residence owes its name to it. But things have not always been as serene as they are today: during the First World War it was the scene of fierce battles, and the five mines that were detonated in an effort to conquer enemy positions completely changed its appearance. Today, the reconstructed defensive positions and adits to them form a unique museum open to visitors and can be reached via signposted trails that present no or only moderate difficulties for hikers.
