Sliding downhill
Want the romance and magic of a toboggan ride downhill – or the challenge of expert toboggan racing? Both options are there. If you want to be close to the heart of Nature, choose the classic one: shoulder your sledge and walk uphill through snow-clad woods. Quite an effort, but a rewarding one as you are engulfed by the magic of the Dolomites’ winter panorama. The downhill runs from the Störes Plateau or Heilig Kreuz are not for cowards, though. And if you want to put your courage and stamina really to the test, opt for the Alta Badia natural toboggan run, which takes you 3½ kilometres down from Piz Sorega to St. Kassian.
